ALLOY MAINFRAME We used lightweight and corrosion-resistant 6061 aluminum for the mainframe of our Taxi Trike, while many others use heavier steel frames. By utilizing aluminum tubing, we can shape the tubes to feature a low step-thru for easy access without having a gusset that hinders access. SEMI-INTEGRATED HEADSET The semi-integrated headset bearings sit inside the head tube with no external cups to expose, while the top cone features an additional rubber 5 seal to keep out the elements. CRUISER PLATFORM PEDALS WITH GRIP TAPE AND RUSTLESS BUSHINGS The wide and flat surface of our Cruiser pedals are ideal for riding in flip flops, with grip tape in the center for extra control. The bushings are a big deal for durability. The ball bearings in regular pedals oxidize and degrade FAST in a coastal environment—from salt-water contamination or from rides in inclement weather. ALLOY 3 PIECE CRANKS + SEALED CARTRIDGE BB Most tricycles use "old school" steel 1-piece cranks with caged or loose ball bottom brackets, but not our Taxi Trike! The Taxi trike uses alloy crank arms for superior corrosion resistance and a sealed cartridge bottom bracket for enhanced durability and lower maintenance. FRONT AND REAR BRAKES Trikes are heavier than traditional bicycles, and handle completely differently so stopping power is a must. Unlike many trikes on the market, the Taxi trike has both front AND rear brakes for the right amount of modulation and power. The front brake is also equipped with "parking brake" functionality for when you arrive at your destination. CHEEKS CRUISER MEMORY FOAM SADDLE Our new CHEEKS Cruiser saddle with memory foam is first in class for comfort on a trike. A wide base, thick memory foam padding, and elastomer springs make riding our Taxi Trike feel like settling into your favorite armchair. WIDE TIRES W/ REFLECTIVE SIDEWALL The Taxi Trike has 24" x 2" wide tires for better stability and impact absorption. All 3 tires have reflective stripping on the tire to improve visibility in low light situations for extra safety.
